Skaterhockey is a fast game, which is very similar to ice hockey. Full-contact is allowed. Unlike ice hockey the game is played with a relatively heavy ball, and not a puck. There are 4 outfield players and one goalie from each team on the track at a time. One team is alowed a maximum of 18 players at per game. Skaterhockey is played on roller-skates, with a hockey stick on an outdoor track specially made for the purpose (normally 20x40 meters). It can be played indoors as well, on a bigger track (30x60 meters).
Full equipment is required (except breast protection). That includes a helmet, elbow pads, gloves, some protective shorts (called girdles) and shin guards. The goalkeeper is of course better protected.
CBS Sport Skaterhockey has two teams. One playing in the highest division "Mesterrækken" and one in the 2nd division.
There are no requirements for your individual level – everyone can join!
Since skaterhockey is mostly played on tracks located outside, we depend a lot on the weather. Our season therefore starts on 1 of April and ends on 1 of November. During the season there will be an opportunity to participate in indoor tournaments.
