Katapuls – teaching children how to play hard..

On 13 June 2009 four CBS sporters attended a local children’s event on Solbjerg Plads in order to strengthen our bond with the municipality. A good relation to the people behind the scenes means more influence when training hours are split between the sports organisations.

A learning experience
During the day CBS Sport had arranged three games for the children, who were between the ages 5-13 approx. The first game was familiar to the children and it went very well, however, the next two games took some work and a couple of broken carton masks before the children understood the point.

The games
We played ’Høvdingebold’ which is a game that most Danish children know as it is played in most gym classes around the country. Second up was anteater football. WHAT? Yes, anteater football is normal football, but played with a carton mask where you only have a limited view. This is a very fun game where people think they hit the ball, but miss. The children found it quite fun in the beginning but begged us for normal football in the end. Third and final game was touch rugby which has a lot of rules. Our rugby expert managed to teach most of the children how to play and they ended up having a lot of fun.

All in all, the day was fun and the weather was good and we managed to spend some quality time with the municipality.
